Daily Leaders 5/10/11

Bats

1. ^Andrew McCutchen, 3 for 4, 2HR, 2RBI 2R. The Guru/McCutchen bro-mance is about to be in full swing. Get it. Full Swing. Ha! No? Jeez, rough crowd.

2. Adrian Gonzalez, 3 for 6, 2HR, 3RBI, 2R. Gonzo is really starting to heat up and show how scary he can become in Boston, or for that matter away from Petco.

3. J.J Hardy, 4 for 5, 1HR, 1RBI, 1R. First game back, nice showing. He should resume everyday shortstop duties from this point forward.

4. Michael Young, 3 for 4, 0HR, 2RBI, 2R. Fell one hit (HR) shy of the cycle. Can anyone say with a straight face that this comes as a surprise? Dude rakes for a living.

5. Matt Kemp, 2 for 4, 1HR, 3RBI, 2R. First dinger of this glorious month of May. With a .336 average, 7HR, 24RBI and 11SB makes you realize just how good his month of April was.

Arms

1. Tim Lincecum, 8IP, 4H, 0ER, 9K, ND. The freak punched in last night which usually requires many batters being punched out, although he was handed a ND in the duel last night with Zona starter Ian Kennedy.

2. Ian Kennedy, 8IP 4H, 0ER, 8K, ND. Despite an outing while surrendering 9ER to the Cards on April 13th, Mr. Kennedy has simply been terrific, especially in this one; matching Lincecum stride for stride.

3. Roy Halladay, 8IP, 5H, 1ER, 9K, ND. You will find Roy on this list pretty much every fifth day. He found himself in a duel with Marlins starter Josh Johnson, who unless my computer explodes you will find next on this list.

4. Josh Johnson, 7IP, 6H, 1ER, 7K, ND. JJ has a nice rebound start after getting knocked around last week in St. Louis. After a shockingly bad spring, JJ holds a 3-1 record, 1.63 Era and a stellar 53:18 K:BB in 55.1 innings this season.

5. Homer Bailey 7IP, 5H, 0ER, 5K, W. Finally a pitcher who gemmed and actually got the win. Homer has been lights out since his return and is worth a look in all formats. He is 2-0 in his 2 starts with a 0.69 Era and 0.77 WHIP.
