Daily Leaders 5/9/11

Bats

1.  ^Victor Martinez, 3 for 4, HR, 2 2B, 3RBI, 2R.  V-Mart has an RBI in his last three contests and a hit in every game since coming off of the DL.

2.  Carlos Quentin, 3 for 4, HR, 2 2B 5 RBI, R.  Q had been slumping but busted out big time last night.  Coach Lap still thinks he's a dog.

3.  Josh Willingham, 2 for 4, HR, 5RBI, 2R.  He's hitting a paltry .235 and facing a pending suspension, but with 6 bombs and 22 RBI, he might become a cheap power source and is owned in just 7.6% of ESPN Leagues.

 4.  Gaby Sanchez, 3 for 4, 2B, HR, 3RBI, R.  Let the dick riding continue.

 5.  Chris Iannetta, 2 for 3, 2B, HR, RBI, 2R.  Hits in eight of his last nine games and three bombs during that span.

    Arms

    1.  Zack Greinke, 6IP, 5H, 2ER, 9K, W.  Grienke didn't walk a batter earning his first win as a Brewer last night, finally rewarding all of you who took him so early.  His ERA is a little unsightly through two starts, but he has a 15:1 K/BB ratio.

    2.  Trevor Cahill, 7IP, 5H, ER, BB, 7K, W.  A guy I was avoiding like the plauge before the draft, Cahill improved to 6-0 on the season.

    3.  Travis Wood, 6.2IP, 6H, BB, 6K, W.  Wood's been struggling since his first start of the year, but got back on track last night and didn't give up a run.  His three-run bomb at the plate was more than he needed to get the win.

    4.  Edwin Jackson, 7IP, 5H, BB, 5K, W.  Scattered just five singles over seven innings and didn't allow a run.  Amazing how low his pitch count stays when he doesn't walk people.

    5.  Max Sherzer, 5IP, 5H, 2ER, 3BB, 5K, W. Sherz went the minimum to also improve his record to 6-0.  While his stuff is good enough to get him out of jams, his WHIP can only be rightfully described as a "healthy" 1.40.
